What is the difference between an Active Journey and a Journey?

What is the difference between an Active Journey and a Journey?

Journeys are a concept used in the CaliberMind funnel product to denote a brand interaction with a target prospect (person or account as defined by the type of funnel created).
Journey Definition
A Journey is an account's or person's (depending on what kind of funnel you have selected) engagement with your brand. CaliberMind tracks how many stages it has met and stops at the currently engaged stage (this is an "Active Journey") or stage progression through either becoming a customer, exiting early, or meeting some other success criteria that denotes the funnel journey end.
Active Journey Definition
An Active Journey is an account or person (depending on what kind of funnel you have selected) who is currently in an active stage of the journey. This is a subset of Journeys and the accounts or people are still considered engaged or "active."

Things that end a journey (making inactive) include:

  • No longer meeting filter criteria set up for accounts or people in your funnel configuration.
  • A time-out being met as defined in your funnel configuration for the stage they last met.
  • An early exit as defined for the stage in your funnel configuration.
  • A successful journey or completion by meeting the criteria for the final stage (such as "New Customer" or "Renewed").
