What's the Summary Tab in the Attribution Overview?

Common Use Cases & Questions Answered with the Summary Tab

If you’re a Marketing Analyst looking to analyze trends in Pre-Opp Attribution to optimize marketing strategies:

  1. Set "Opportunity Type" as the Group By selection.
  2. Explore Pre-Opp Attribution, Post-Opp Attribution, Total Attribution, Opps Attributed, and other related metrics for each Opportunity Type.
  3. To customize the analysis, utilize the dynamic filters, such as Date Periods, Date Aggregation, and Campaign filters.
  4. Gain insights into which Opportunity Types have the highest Pre-Opp Attribution values, allowing you to tailor marketing efforts accordingly.

If you're a Sales Manager aiming to monitor the impact of touches on Opportunities and companies:

  1. Choose the relevant Group By criteria (e.g., Department, Job Level, or UTM Source) to segment the data.
  2. Explore the count of Touches Attributed, Companies, and People associated with Opportunities.
  3. Customize the view by using filters like Date Periods, Date Aggregation, and Attribution Model.
  4. Identify which departments, job levels, or other criteria contribute most to Touches and Opportunities, aiding in targeted sales efforts.

If you're an Executive seeking a holistic overview of overall performance and pipeline metrics, use the Dashboard's KPI metrics:

  1. Access the Dashboard to view the summarized KPI metrics at the top.
  2. Analyze key metrics like Total Pipeline, Total Opps, and Attribution-related counts.
  3. Leverage default filters or customize Date Periods, Date Aggregation, and other settings.
  4. Gain a high-level understanding of the organization's success in Opportunity creation and the impact of Attribution on overall performance.

Summary Tab

This dashboard view in the Analytics module shows you aggregated Attribution data, allowing you to use several "Group By" options to give you different data sets as options for different narratives in your data storytelling. You can see which activities have been most successful at contributing to creating your opportunities (Opportunity Creation) and closing your opportunities.

All filters apply to all widgets as a rule.

The KPI metrics shown at the top display for the Summary, Comparison and Explore tabs.

Looking at the numbers of each tile represent the definitions shown below:

  1. Pre-Opp Attribution displays the value sum of all of your Pre-Opp Attribution, or Attribution that occurs prior to an Opportunity being created
  2. Opps Attributed displays the count of all Opportunities that have Pre-Opp Attribution
  3. Post-Opp Attribution displays the sum of all of your Post-Opp Attribution opps, or Attribution that occurs after an Opportunity has been created
  4. Opps Attributed displays the count of all Opportunities that have Post-Opp Attribution
  5. Total Attribution displays the sum of all of your Pre-Opp and Post-Opp Attribution
  6. Opps Attributed displays the count of all Opportunities that have Attribution
  7. Total Pipeline displays the total dollar amount of all of your Opportunities, regardless of whether or not they have Attribution
  8. Total Opps displays the count of all Opportunities, regardless of whether or not they have Attribution

Attribution Over Time by Opportunity Type

By default, this widget shows Attribution Over Time by Opportunity Type. You are able to determine the look-back period by selecting a Date Period and Date Aggregation.

  1. The legend on the chart will show the values based on the “Group By” selection you’ve made. In this case, we have selected Opportunity Type and we see values like “New Business,” “Renewal” and “Upsells.”
  2. The x-axis shows you a time range based on your selections of “Date Periods” and “Date Aggregation” in the filter drawer. An example of how to set this up would be to select “This and Last Year” for the “Date Period” and “Quarter” for the Date Aggregation, this would then show you quarter over quarter performance for this and last year. See Below when you change the time range display by quarters:

Attribution Overview by Opportunity Type

This dashboard view shows you aggregated Attribution data grouped by the Opportunity Type that you can sort accordingly in each column based on its Attribution Metrics desired.

  3. Pre-Opp Attribution displays the sum of Pre-Opp Attribution for the value in the left column. In this example, we are showing a Pre-Opp Attribution value of $7.21M for the New Business Opportunity Type
  4. Post-Opp Attribution displays the sum of Post-Opp Attribution for the value in the left column. In this example we are showing a Post-Opp Attribution value of $4.77M for the New Business Opportunity Type
  5. Total Attribution displays the sum of Total Attribution for the value in the left column. In this example we are showing a Total Attribution value of $12M for the New Business Opportunity Type
  6. Opps Attributed displays the count of Opportunities with Attribution for the value in the left column.
  7. Touches Attributed shows the count of Touches that are being included when evaluating Attribution for the left column value
  8. Companies shows the points assigned to the Person’s events after multipliers and decay are applied
  9. People shows the change in engagement score when comparing this week’s score to the previous week’s score
