Common Use Cases & Questions Answered with the Events Tab

If you're a Marketing Manager aiming to assess the impact of Events on Opportunities, use the Attribution by Opportunity Type feature with these steps:

  1. Select "Month" as the Date Period and "All Time" as the look-back period.
  2. Set the "Organization default Model" as the Attribution Model.
  3. Choose "Opportunity Create" as the Opportunity Date Category.
  4. Navigate to the Attribution by Opportunity Type widget under the "Events" tab.
  5. Explore data such as Event Date, Opp Create Date, Opp Name, Company, Campaign, Campaign Type, Event Detail, Touch Value, and Opp Amount.
  6. Use filters to focus on specific Campaigns, Channels, or Opportunity Types to refine your analysis.

If you're a Sales Manager looking to track Touches and Opportunities over time, use the Total Touch Value and Opps metrics: 

  1. Choose "Quarter" as the Date Period and "All Time" as the look-back period.
  2. Set the "Organization default Model" as the Attribution Model.
  3. Select "Opportunity Create" as the Opportunity Date Category.
  4. Observe the Total Touch Value and Opps metrics at the top of the dashboard under the "Events" tab.
  5. Analyze the counts and sums to assess the impact of Touches on Opportunities.
  6. Utilize filters to focus on specific Campaigns, Channels, or Opportunity Types for a more detailed analysis.

Events Tab

This Dashboard shows you aggregated Attribution data focusing on Events.

Important Note: All filters apply to all widgets as a rule.

  1. Total Touch Value displays the sum of all of your Attribution created by touches associated with opportunities over the time period you’ve selected.
  2. Opps displays the count of all Opportunities that were created during the time period selected based on your selection from Opportunity Date Category (Created/Close/Touch Date)
  3. Touches displays the count of all Touches that happened over the time period selected
  4. Companies displays the count of all Companies with Attribution over the time period selected
  5. People displays the count of all People with Attribution over the time period selected

Attribution by Events and Opportunity Associated

The numbers below represent the definitions of the respective numbered rows in the image above:

  1. This widget allows the user to see the Campaigns related to Opportunities
  2. Event Date displays the date that the Event occurred
  3. Opp Create Date displays the date that the Opportunity was created
  4. Opp Name displays the name of the Opportunity from the CRM
  5. Company displays the name of the Company associated with the Opportunity, where you can also quickly link to the Company’s Detail Overview
  6. Campaign displays the name of the Campaign associated with the Opportunity, where you can also quickly link to the Campaign’s Detail Overview
  7. Campaign Type displays the type of the Campaign
  8. Event Detail displays the details of the event (i.e. it can be the page visited, email clicked, etc.)
  9. Touch Value displays the attributed amount of the single touch
  10. Opp Amount displays the total value of the Opportunity
